A Classic Land Rover Defender
The classic land rover defender has long embodied the ethos of freedom and independence. A boxy, burly off-roader, it has stood the test of time – and is still a highly sought-after vehicle in the United States, especially when it’s in good condition.
Is Land Rover better than Jeep?
A classic in every sense, it’s a true off-roader that’s just as at home on dirt tracks as it is a road-based SUV. And when it comes to handling, the Defender is as refined on-road as any of its modern Range and Land Rover siblings.
There are three body styles and several different engine options for the Defender to choose from, as well as various trims and option packages that can be customised to your specific tastes. But whether you opt for a short-wheelbase 90, 110 or a longer 130, your Defender will be an unstoppable off-road machine.
We’ve tested the Defender on a variety of off-road tracks at Eastnor Castle, the home of Land Rover’s off-road development since 1948, and it did the job with élan. It’s a tough car that will outperform anything in its class on rutted, muddy tracks and steep, slippery inclines.
